MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE BEER
Favourite Endeavour Beer

“Reserve Amber Ale, as it’s always a pleasure to drink through the vintages and see how they’re developing in the bottle as they gracefully age.”

Where it all began

A beer epiphany drinking New Belgium Fat Tire in late 1999, whilst working as a ski instructor in the USA, sparked an idea which simmered in Ben’s mind for a number of years.

It wasn’t until 2006, after a career in the wine and spirits industry, that Ben decided to combine the philosophies of winemaking, with his pursuit of delicious beers. In 2010, Ben finally made his beer idea a reality and launched Endeavour Beer with Andy, Dan and 35 supportive friends and family as shareholders.

Hugely passionate about supporting a long and healthy future for the independent brewing industry he loves, Ben is also now the Chair of the Independent Brewers Association.

John Bogan

Favourite Endeavour Beer

“As Head Brewer, it’s hard to pick my favourite!  The first Endeavour beer I tried was the Reserve Amber Ale, but I would have to say that our Growers Golden Ale is my go to.  Wonderful English styling, with a great balance of malt and hop bitterness.”

Where it all began

JB is always inspired by the great diversity and versatility of beer.  He is hugely passionate about the deceptive simplicity of brewing ingredients, that with the smallest of tweaks can vastly change the flavour profile of a beer.

The moment that sparked this passion to embrace how vastly different beers can be, was Southern Tier Creme Brûlée.  While it might be a bit of a novelty beer, a personal love of dessert beers and the flavours that burst from the beer, had a lasting impact on JB.

Favourite Endeavour Beer

I love them all because they’re all beers that I like to drink, but if I had to pick one, I’d actually pick two! Firstly our Reserve Amber Ale because I’m a malt junky and love the balance of sweet malt alongside the bitterness.  Secondly I love our seasonal Red Ale, because of the malt backbone paired with surprising hop aromatics.

Where it all began

Discovering his love of flavoursome beer circa 1997, when he first tried Coopers Pale Ale, Andy is our founding brewer.

A former winemaker, he has a natural flare for the artistry of brewing, a passion for local ingredients and the refined palate of someone who has worked in the wine industry for a number of years.

Dan Hastings

Favourite Endeavour Beer

“I love our Mid 3.5 Pale Ale.  It’s full of flavour and great for warmer weather.  With a young family, we’re always on the go, so our Mid 3.5 is perfect when I fancy a beer, but have lots going on.”

Where it all began

Dan’s passion for beer first began in Ireland when he’d just turned 18 and tried his first pint of Guinness.

Since then he’s always been fascinated by different styles of beer and started home brewing not long after returning from his trip to Ireland.

With over 17 years experience in building businesses and now living in Noosa, Dan still maintains an active role in Endeavour, mostly quality control (!).
